TRAVEL NURSING IN TOWNSVILLE
"My third stop while traveling Australia with Alliance Nursing was Townsville, where I spent two amazing weeks. The Strand was beautiful, and Flinders Street had a lively nightlife. After work, I explored Ross Lake at sunset and swam in Big and Little Crystal Creek at Paluma Range National Park—just an hour away, with crystal-clear water and great spots for cliff jumping. For the best views of Townsville, I hiked up Mount Stewart Lookout. If you're there on a Thursday, try the Craft Run—exercise followed by a well-earned beer! I also stopped at random coastal spots, hoping to spot a crocodile, but they were too well-hidden. Castle Hill Lookout was perfect for sunset.
On my days off, I travelled north to Cardwell and discovered the stunning Murray Falls. I also did a day trip to Magnetic Island, where I saw rock wallabies, went snorkeling, and explored the island’s beauty—just a short ferry ride from Townsville. I met up with some lovely people who follow my page, and we all went to Carols by Candlelight together, which was such a sweet experience. Determined to see a crocodile, I visited the Bungalow Bay Sanctuary, where I held a baby croc and a snake, saw plenty of Aussie wildlife, and watched crocs being fed.
I loved living and working in Townsville and can’t wait to go back. Go with the slow—that’s it!"
