Kate Gormley, our Nursing Agency Manager (NSW and International) has won the Recruitment Professional 2022 category.

We’re thrilled to share that Kate Gormley, our Nursing Agency Manager – NSW and International has won the Recruitment Professional 2022 category. The peak industry body for the recruitment and staffing sector, the Recruitment, Consulting & Staffing Association (RCSA) announced the winners at their annual Industry Awards held in Melbourne on June 9.

To be a winner in this category shows the work and professionalism Kate has put in over the years in her career in health recruitment. She has demonstrated outstanding leadership skills, took a hands-on learning approach, and guided the Alliance Nursing team at every level.

In an industry of approximately 7,000 recruitment businesses that employs more than 22,000 staff, to be a winner in this category is an outstanding achievement for Kate who has worked in health recruitment since 2005.

In 2008, Kate joined Alliance Health as Recruitment Operations Manager. Her talent was quickly recognised and in 2010, she stepped into Senior Management, working alongside the directors in strategic planning.

Kate also played an instrumental role in leading a pitch to Aspen Medical to work in partnership on the COVID-19 vaccination project and subsequently integrating herself into their office to ensure the consortium worked together seamlessly. She is an exceptional and astute professional and some of her achievements include implementing a team of nurses as a very short notice in support of the COVID Surge Support strategy in 2020. Kate also created job opportunities for nurses who were stood down when elective surgeries were cancelled during the pandemic by reaching out to her network of clients.

Following Alliance Nursing’s acquisition by NSW Business Chamber in 2015, Kate was promoted to Branch Manager. She also took over international recruitment, with a team based in the UK and Ireland. Shortly, another acquisition led to Kate adding Heartbeat Nursing (now Alliance Nursing) to her remit.

Kate has also built the company’s corporate health division from a standing start to now delivering more than 35,000 immunisations to corporations, education facilities and government annually. She is now managing four business units and 26 staff across two time zones. Over the past two years, her skills and experience have been tested, where she had to assemble clinical teams and staff to oversee vaccination efforts in aged care and disability facilities which has saved lives.
