YOU LOVE PEACE AND QUIET,

but living somewhere with a sense of community where you can get to know the locals and make connections is important. Mountains and rivers call your name and you live for a ski adventure on your weekends off. Exploring a region where craft beer and wine are plentiful is brilliant bonus, especially if you can taste them at the local cellar door or brewery

WHY CHOOSE ALBURY?

Albury is a true blue rural Australian experience. It’s known for its produce – being close to farms, vineyards, breweries and other food producers, the food is so fresh. It’s built on a famous river – the Murray River divides Albury from its neighbour Wodonga and is a beautiful setting for a picnic or some exercise and is close to the Alpine ski fields. The cost of living is cheap – compared to Australia’s major cities, Albury’s rental prices are a steal, meaning you’ll have more money to save for your adventures.
The downside? It’s rural – but the nearest major cities, Canberra and Melbourne, are only about 100 miles away. It also has some weather extremes that will test anyone from the Northern Hemisphere – temperatures can easily reach 40+ degrees on a summer’s day and thunderstorms are common.

WORK OPPORTUNITIES

There are more hospitals and health providers in Albury than you might think, given the region’s population only sits at 56,000. Maternity and cancer treatment centres offer specialisation, and the kind of patients you’ll see in a regional centre are different to those in the big smoke, so this is the place for someone looking to really spread their wings and take on some new challenges.

Our nurses tell us that it’s more relaxing working in Australia. The hours are kinder with 8 hour shifts being the norm, lower staff to patient ratios (1:4-6) and better pay. If you’re having trouble deciding where to begin, or how to get here, our friendly team of recruitment consultants can get you started and help you through the process. INSTAGRAM INSPO!

If you choose Albury as your starting point for Australia, you’ll be able to post some of these gems to your Instagram and make your friends and family back home jealous (who knows, this might get them planning a holiday to come and visit you sooner than you think.
